: “Zen Dada Piano” is a sculptural piece created from reclaimed and recycled materials including: books, brushes, old instruments, a window, axe, ski, working lights and other assorted objects. Approx. 44” x 96” x 72” 14 foot “Sumi Brush” and accompanying 9’x 6’ paintings made with logging equipment, was a reaction to my stay at the Graves Foundation and a need to continue a “conversation” with Morris regarding the power of machinery and our endless desire for scale. 14’ x 16” x 16” “Experience II” is made from sticks and remnants gathered during walks in the woods and along shorelines. It is from a series of sculptures dealing with story telling and how we share store and gather experiences. 38” x 12” x 54 “…. on being human” is a reflection on how we treat each other and how we see our selves. The scarred and worn toolbox of my grandfather, split and broken by the trials of life, holds the fragile symbol of inner truth.
